Modern Keepings

Modern keepings
like love lost
and cities seen.

Hearts have hurt
but breaking news
ignores ignited eyes.

Hands have held,
in them roses
and sweaty palms.
Caresses clutching
to moments momentous
enough to excite.

Over long ago,
seemingly so,
but beating and breathing
in a vessel that carries
me from arms to ecstasy,
but it is not YOUR fluidity.

It is that, that I miss:
the moisture
of mine
that makes
you mine.
the youth
of you
that used
ME.

Used me as wheels
that ran through red
in heat and motion:
infatuation.

IT IS NOT TRUE.
Truth is tried,
I try to tell that
I still love you
my modern keepings.
